San Holo has had a huge year so far. In the past few months alone, the Dutch producer dropped his incredible single, “I Still See Your Face”, a second bitbird label compilation (including a mega collab) and even set out on a massive North America tour. Today, he’s let us know that he isn’t finished with 2017 yet, with the release of brand new single, “One Thing”.
Judging by his latest releases (“I Still See Your Face” & “The Future”) San seems to have reached a reflective point in his life – which may be perfectly exemplified by this latest offering. Starting off quick with an upbeat harpsichord melody and a soft pad, LA-based singer Cara Salimando’s gentle vocals float in, giving the track an emotional, melancholic vibe. Some energetic percussion and soft guitar slowly progress the song into a powerful drop filled with lush pulsing synths, booming bass and skittering vocal chops. Check out “One Thing” below and make sure to catch San Holo on his ongoing tour (dates here). Enjoy!

Today we are super excited to be premiering a new banger from one of our favorite bass house acts, Ephwurd, who continue to deliver some of the hardest-hitting house tunes to date. The duo comprising of Datsik and Bais Haus recently launched their own label, Eph’d Up Records, and are keeping the momentum strong with today’s release, “Money,” featuring Grammy Award Winner Fatman Scoop. We also had the pleasure to speak with the duo about their project, so be sure to check out our interview below.
“Money” begins with Fatman Scoop hyping us up, yelling “Take money money, take money money money” as the bass builds in the background. Things heat up for the drop, with Ephwurd showcasing their unique, bass-heavy sound design and bouncy house style. The duo opts for two huge synth basses that whoosh and glide alongside heavy kicks and claps. Ephwurd cool it down with a funky interlude before bringing back in vocals from Fatman Scoop and tying everything back together. “Money” brings the heat from Ephwurd and Fatman Scoop, illustrating the prowess of its collaborators and making for an energetic bass house banger. See tour dates and interview below. Enjoy!

You just started a new label, can you tell us more about Eph’d Up records and what your vision is for the label?
As artists who enjoy a broad range of music going from the most hype tunes to the most chill, we wanted to be able to freely give music to our fans without the time constraints of a label. Sometimes we finish a song and it won’t be months the fans get to hear what we have been working on and its such a huge bummer. Eph’d Up Records gives us the freedom to release music when we want and when you deserve it, because life is happening now and it’s not set on some schedule. With that said, we are launching the label with tunes of ours that we’ve been dropping for well over a year now and it always goes off! We’ve always toyed around with the idea of starting a label. We just want a hub for all the music we love and a place for our fans to come vs having to go search elsewhere to find tunes that we think are dope.
What’s your process when making a record together? Do you make the track together in the studio or split up and then exchange ideas?
Sometimes we will start projects remotely then hit the studio in the final mixing/mastering stages or we will just do it all in one session together. We always finish songs together though. I think there’s no right or wrong way to approach a new tune, it could be a simple idea or a drum loop that just spawns something. Sometimes we get a dope new vocal and we’re just like “Yo let’s write something completely around this vocal.”. It’s how Vibrations happened. We were super stoked writing a new project, and just hit a wall on it and just said we’d let it work itself out. 10 minutes later we were like “fuck this let’s start a new track.” We had the one snippet from Good Vibrations and we ended up writing a whole new tune around it that night.
Besides making music and playing shows, what is your favorite pastime right now? Anything you’ve recently gotten into? Or something you’ve always done on the side?
Troy is full blown into the stock market and I’m a fanatic of obtaining little bits of information about everything in life. I think having the ability to use your knowledge to create something new or push forward through difficult choices is one of the cornerstones of life. We are constantly making decisions on the daily which can either help us succeed or may even take us back a few notches. Learning to asses risk and make decisions based on what you know or have experienced is one of he greatest ways to be bigger and better than yourself. We never play it safe but we do try to play it smart.
You guys are known for your bangers, but what is your favorite music to relax to right now?
We actually have a playlist of stuff that we listen to after every show. It literally just a mix of popular songs that everyone knows and keeps the party goin. Usually they are all throwbacks but we have a few new hits in there. I think listening to songs like these helps us understand what listeners are attracted to in music.
What festival do you look forward to the most?
There are so many different festivals to choose from but we always love coming back to Shambhala. It’s been a busy festival season this year, but we can’t wait to get back on the road to close out 2017 with our Australian Tour next month and headline show at the Belasco in LA on December 15!
Nov 30 – The Helm – Eumundi, Australia
Dec 01 – Red Square – Adelaide, Australia
Dec 02 – Villa – Perth, Australia
Dec 06 – Argyle House – Newcastle, Australia
Dec 08 – The Met – Brisbane, Australia

LA-based production duo and funk masters Oliver are back with a vibrant new remix that we’re happy to premiere on the site today. This release comes on the heels of the artists’ 15-track album Full Circle, a stacked offering that pays homage to all things funk and branches into other genres, as well. Today Oliver have shared their disco-driven take on The Knocks and Captain Cuts‘ bouncy single “House Party,” and it’s sounding great.
“One of our favorite bands, Kano, was the main inspiration on this one. We had a lot of fun just taking it back to the basics and making some disco.” – Oliver

University of Arizona student and talented producer Evan Gartner is making his TSIS debut with his remix of ROZES’ recent single “Famous”. ROZES has worked with artists like The Chainsmokers, Big Gigantic and Louis Futon and is now the latest artist to receive the Evan Gartner remix treatment… a remix that earns Gartner a warm welcome with a TSIS premiere.
“I heard the song on New Music Friday and before I had even listened one time through I knew I wanted to remix it. ROZES’ voice is crazy good and the lyrics made me want to produce something uplifting and euphoric, but still hit you with something that makes you want to smile and party when it drops. You know – something that makes you feel ‘Famous.’ I was just so stoked to hear that she and her team liked it as much as mine and I did.” – Evan Gartner
Wasting no time capturing a playful atmosphere, the remix kicks off with hand claps and ROZES’ always enchanting vocal melody. The track builds energy with shimmering synths and powerful percussion and eventually releases into a melodic drop full of a rhythmic bassline and danceable drums. Evan Gartner’s “Famous” remix instantly puts listeners in the summer state of mind, which is an effect we always appreciate. Keep an eye on Gartner as he’s impressed us already and surely has some more impressive releases up his sleeve. Enjoy!

There’s no disputing that Swedish producer Kasbo has become an absolute favorite of ours here at TSIS. From his initial feel-good single of 2017 “Found You” to tearing up the TSIS Beach Stage at Okeechobee to October’s release of “Bleed It Out,” the young artist has spent the year honing his euphoric signature that finds its home somewhere between indie and electronic. Today Kasbo is back with a stunning remix of Jai Wolf’s “Indian Summer.”
“Was an honor to remix Jai Wolf’s iconic song “Indian Summer.” Was challenging to make it my own cause I felt that the song was very much what it was supposed to be already. Ended up doing a few remixes, all of which were very similar to the original, but finally I decided that I had to do something completely different, which became the final product. Super proud. Hope you enjoy.” – Kasbo

Despite some familiarities from the original, Kasbo really does breathe new life into this already stunning track. The producer sets a blissful tone right off the bat with warm guitar chords and drums, subdued vocals and even some sounds of nature. The future-style drop will no doubt hit you in the feels with lush synth melodies, luminous vocals and the iconic synth build and vocal sample from the original. Check out the must-hear remix below. Enjoy!

Emancipator is someone who never disappoints. For years, the talented artist has been behind some of our favorite instrumentals and once again proves he’s a force to be reckoned with on his latest project, the 14-track album titled Baralku.
We recently had the opportunity to premiere the title track off this album and have been patiently awaiting the full project. Now Emancipator’s fifth studio album has arrived via his own label Loci Records and it’s just what we wanted to hear from the veteran. Emancipator’s sound is always evolving and this latest release is no different. He always seems to be able to capture a mystical, calming quality in each of his songs as he effortlessly combines layers of instrumentation. Here he expertly blends organic instrumentation and electronic productions in a ways that compliment each other so well. He’s incorporated many different elements ranging from middle eastern strings to hip-hop percussion, glitchy vocal chops and everything between. Enjoy!

Gary Richards may be the busiest man in dance music. Any big fan of electronic music knows HARD Events and the over-the-top experiences he was able to create as CEO. HARD Summer, Day of the Dead, and Holy Ship!, are just a few of the many events he threw down, all the while maintaining a prolific DJ career as Destructo. He hadn’t posted any of his own music since his controversial split with LiveNation, but with this newest release, “Bassface”, Destructo shows us where his focus currently is: the music.
The concept behind “Bassface” is simple and concise. If you’re looking for a sinister, rolling bassline, Destructo serves it up right on a platter. No tricks here. By the time you’ve cooled off from the first drop, he brings it right back around for round two. This track serves one purpose and one purpose only, getting the dancefloor hot and sweaty. If you’re ready to dive in and get moving, get your first listen right here, below. Enjoy!
