SoDown’s New EP is a Funktastic “Journey”

Another EP from the Funk capital – Boulder, Colorado has just dropped, this time coming from SoDown.  The ‘saxophone playing, bass music producing, funkohalic’ takes you on a throwback-modern ride-along of his newest EP titled ‘The Journey’. The six tracks on the album have a resonance toward headbanging sessions in the middle of a funky sax breakdown.  Their names lean on the songs identities, just like “King Funk” features prominent wobbles alongside jazzy cymbal tracks and soulful melodic progressions, so does “Old School” bring in old school-sounding hip hop samples. By far my favorite sample of the album is the “Pusherman”

Get On Up and Listen to Big Gigantic’s New Single

If you missed Big Gigantic’s announcement yesterday, don’t fret because their newest single “Get On Up” is here for your listening pleasure. With intriguing initial beats, the electric duo quite literally sets the tone before breaking out into the drum and sax-step single when saying “kick me one of them funky beats”. Dom and Jeremy seem to be switching it up with their style, this time around using harder and more intense bass. The faster versions of their usual electronica doesn’t forget to incorporate that signature funky sound that we all have come to love. Enjoy the single and per their

Gramatik surprised listeners yesterday after randomly releasing from the vault, one of his older singles that never made it to the public eye. An ideal tune to ease into the weekend, “Straight Off The Block” is a saxophone centered, hip hop instrumental. A very smooth and jazzy rhythm to the song, it’s a nice treat from Gramatik for those looking to relax or put a little groove in their step. Take a look at Gramatik’s Soundcloud where he just released an EP Remix and will drop another in the near future. Let the funk get your good mood flowing.
