Another hasty assistant has inevitably leaked Gorgon City’s placement on the EDC Las Vegas lineup. Thanks to BandsInTown and the duo’s official website, fans of the UK talents can rest easy knowing that they will be performing at Insomniac’s flagship festival. The leak comes following Art Department’s gaff last month when an overzealous graphic designer revealed their entire summer tour plans ahead of any official announcements.

Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas is still months away and its official lineup is far from announced, but that didn’t stop a well-intentioned graphic designer from spilling the beans on Art Department’s Facebook page. In an announcement for their upcoming Spring Tour dates, Art Department included their performance dates for not only EDC Las Vegas, but EDC New York, Tomorrowland Brazil, and Movement — all of which have yet to officially announce even the first phase of their lineups.

Pasquale Rotella responds to deadmau5′s criticism in AMA, ‘I respect his art form. It would be great if he would respect mine.’

Dancing Astronaut – house, electro, progressive, dubstep

On the eve of Insomniac flagship festival, Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, Pasquale Rotella opened up to fans in an intimate AMA on Reddit. In addition to talks about EDC Texas (It’s in the plans but they are still looking for a venue,) and how to make it in the dance music industry, Rotella also addressed the criticism he’s face from electronic music’s most outspoken entity, deadmau5. In a recent interview with The Standard, deadmau5 took shots at the festival promoters, stating ‘It’s another thing I can’t f*****’ stand, you know? Festivals are being branded bigger than the acts, which is totally backwards in my head.’

“From his comments, I’m assuming he’d rather people stand there and gawk at the artist for an hour-and-a-half, but that’s not where I come from, nor where I want things to go.” Rotella responded in the Reddit AMA, noting dance music is about dancing and getting lost in the moment, not spending an hour and a half staring at a DJ.

Watch This: Bingo Players adrenaline packed EDC Vegas recap

Capturing the energy of Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas with only a video camera is hard to do. The energy of the festival grounds as they buzz and breathe with a palpable excitement never translates well to celluloid. This year Bingo Players took Las Vegas by storm, dispatching one of the most frantic sets of the weekend and leaving a stomped out crater in their wake. As fast-paced and unrelenting as the music they make, Bingo Players EDC Las Vegas recap — defined by fast cuts and faster kicks — does well to embody the peak of the EDC experience.

EDC Las Vegas ups the ante, plans to spend $35 million on this year’s festival

Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella told the New York Post that they’ll be “stepping it up [EDC Las Vegas] year,” and focusing the “largest percentage of [the] money [on] production” — a statement that falls right in line with Insomniac’s priority to cater to the fans as “headliners” rather than superstar DJs.
