Novation Teases Launchpad, Now in Color for iPad and Ableton

To tease their new Launchpad mk2 series, Novation recently dropped a sweet new video to their YouTube channel, NovationTV. Check it out below. The new grid version is 8×8 and has 64 pads that integrate with Ableton Live. They’re also lit by RGB LED lights that coordinate to the color of the clips (that you customize). Light shows abound. There is no OFFICIAL release date or pricing yet. Some rumors are floating around in the UK. Student Is Composing With Virtual Reality Interface And Oculus Rift In Ableton Live

Student Bryon Mallet from New Zealand is bringing the worlds of music and technology together to analyze and discuss his latest creation. The Kiwi uses a personal virtual reality interface that he calls “Pensato,” using an Oculus Rift setup and headset, to compose a new track by literally just pointing at his screen and navigating through Ableton Live. Tom Cosm Made A Sequencer That Mashes Up 16 Tracks At Once

Kiwi producer and gifted Ableton tutor Tom Cosm got creative last week. Inspired by SirMashALot’s viral YouTube video that mashed together six country songs, he made a project out of the same vein. Taking random tracks from Beatport in the electro house and glitch hop genres, he made a machine that takes “real time automatic mash ups of any 16 tracks you throw at it” and the video below is the result.
