Josh Pan Unleashes Dark & Gritty New Trap Track “Mask” Ft. AWAY

Josh Pan has always been on the cutting edge of trap and future bass. You could say the same thing about the tastemaking record label OWSLA as well. That’s why when we saw that Josh Pan had dropped a new single via Skrillex’s imprint, we had to check it out – and boy are we glad that we did.

Josh Pan certainly thrives in the darker, grittier alcoves inside the realm of music. Today, Josh teams up with producer AWAY to bring us a new piece of music straight from their respective domains. The new track is called “Mask,” and it’s sounding amazing. Everything falls perfectly into place on this tune. There’s a vivid atmosphere, glitchy sound design, and, above all else actually, is Josh Pan’s amazing vocals.

Many of Josh’s fans know him not only for his unique production style, but also for his extremely impressive singing ability, which really makes the track here. He sounds like he could easily be a frontman of a band, and based on some of his alt-rock work with X&G, we would love to see him venture off in that direction even more than he already has.

Have a listen to Josh Pan and AWAY’s new track “Mask” below, which comes along with a dope video as well. Enjoy!

Billie Eilish Shares Must Hear, Chill New Acoustic Song “come out and play”

It’s no secret Billie Eilish is one of my favorite artists. Some artists just have “it” and she does… everything from her voice to how she carries herself and dresses just goes to show that she’s a superstar. Now she’s shared a very chill new song titled “come out and play.“

Billie is a versatile artist that can go HARD, but at the same time deliver a somber song that will make you tear up. Her last single “when the party’s over” is one of her slow burners that hits you right in the feels and she finds the same laidback vibe on this new one “come out and play.” Here Billie showcases her incredible vocals that I just can’t get enough of atop a beautiful acoustic melody and minimal soundscapes. Check out the new song below and enjoy!

A$AP Rocky Samples Tame Impala On New Psychedelic Single “Sundress” + Video

It’s only been 6 months since the drop of his last full length project Testing, but A$AP Rocky has already returned to releasing new music. The New York rapper is back with a brand new single called “Sundress,” and it’s definitely something you need to hear.

The new track samples the Tame Impala track “Why Won’t You Make Up Your Mind,” and Rocky flawlessly pivots the tune into an experimental hip-hop jaunt. We know from Rocky’s past that he’s a big fan of Tame Impala (he even worked with them on his last album), and it’s great to see how well he flows with their sound.

It’s fair to say that Testing was one of A$AP Rocky’s weaker albums, but we are definitely digging this psychedelic sound from him (which reminds of his amazing track L$D). The track also comes with an amazing new video that features some refreshing creativity from director Frank Lebon.

Could this single mean even more is coming from Rocky soon? It would be crazy if he actually released two albums in one year. Stream the new single “Sundress” below and enjoy!

Earl Sweatshirt Drops Lo-Fi New Single “The Mint” + Announces New Album ‘Some Rap Songs’

We’ve just taken another massive step forward in the direction of a new Earl Sweatshirt album. The brilliant young rapper just dropped another new single today titled “The Mint,” featuring Navy Blue, and it’s sounding very similar to the first single, “Nowhere2go.”

These two new singles we’ve heard from Earl over the past couple of weeks gives us a glimpse into the sound that he’s aiming to explore for his upcoming new album. It seems as though Earl is diving into a more experimental sonic aesthetic, focusing on lo-fi beats that are heavily sampled.

This sound isn’t what we’re used to hearing on an Earl Sweatshirt track. It’s very interesting however, to see how he’s developed his music over the past three years, since we haven’t heard hardly anything from him since his previous album, I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside.

Earl Sweatshirt took to Twitter earlier this morning to announce that his forthcoming album will be called Some Rap Songs and that it will be dropping November 30. It’s finally happening. You can preorder the album right here.

Listen to Earl’s brand new single “The Mint” below and enjoy!

PREMIERE | Fakear Delivers Lush Indie Electronic Vibes On Impressive New Track “Mana”

French producer Fakear is a TSIS staple thanks to his ability to deliver inspiring electronic soundscapes with every track. Earlier this year we had the pleasure of premiering “Something Wonderful”, a vibrant original off of his enchanting sophomore album All Glows, which resonated with us for its warm instrumentals, catchy vocals, and dreamy synth work. Now Fakear returns with the lush indie electronic vibes on his new original track “Mana”.

“Mana” begins on a toned down, atmospheric note that is punctuated by a soothing wood block beat and layered with a catchy vocal chop melody. Warm, rumbling bass enters the picture alongside soaring, high-pitched synths to create an immersive listen across the entire audio spectrum. The track effortlessly ebbs and flows between energy levels ensuring a smooth ride for the listener.

This is the second track that Fakear has released off the upcoming Nowadays V compilation after “5th Season” with La Fine Equipe. Keep an eye out for the full compilation November 30th, which you can preorder  here. Enjoy!

Amtrac Dazzles With Melodic House Single “Madness To Mayhem”

Raised in Kentucky and now stationed in LA, Amtrac has undeniably earned a spot in the Melodic House Music Hall of Fame. With features on the site dating back to 2014, he creates naturally timeless music. In fact, Amtrac has produced two of my all-time favorite remixes; One of Alesso’s “Heroes” and the other of Shakka’s “When Will I See You Again”. Now, Amtrac has released an overwhelmingly catchy single titled “Madness To Mayhem”, and straight-up, I think I’ve listened to it at least 25 times today already.

With warm piano, an irresistible 4×4 kick pattern and comforting vocals, it is the perfect winter soundscape. “Madness To Mayhem” is the second original piece coming from Amtrac this year, following “Old Times”. And while he is not releasing music himself, he continues to build his record label OPENERS with tastefully curated house tunes. Enjoy!

Rising Artist Alex Lustig Shines On Dreamy New EP ‘Wave003: A Glowing Mind’

Alex Lustig is back for more! We recently had the pleasure of premiering his Wave002 EP, and he’s just delivered the latest installment titled Wave003: A Glowing Mind.

“The wave series is a form of relaxation for me and my mind. After suffering from anxiety, panic attacks and depersonalisation for years, the ambient sounds always calmed me down and helped me get through it all. A glowing mind represents my mind when it was 17 before my first panic attack and the start of it all. It represents this young beautiful, creative, overthinking mind that got corrupted, and now is slowly coming back with time and experience of the side effects of anxiety. Wave003 is the intro to my upcoming project (2019) which will go deeper into the psychosis.” – Alex Lustig

The classically trained artist from Belguim is someone we’ve been keeping our eye on and he continues to impress us with each release. He expertly crafts lush, downtempo soundscapes with dreamy sound design and irresistible melodies. Keep an eye on Alex Lustig and enjoy!

Having grown by leaps and bounds over the past few years, we’ve loved watching Taska Black slowly evolve his unique, ethereal sound. Well today its reached yet another new stage, as the quickly-rising artist shares his debut EP – MINDS.

We’ve kept a close eye on TB for years now. Having become nearly synonymous with San Holo’s bitbird brand, it’s no wonder they both occupy a similar niche, beautiful sonic space, which is perfectly exemplified via this latest offering. Although included on TB’s debut project are his previously released singles “Losing Our Minds” & “Get Out Of My Head” TB unfolds a melancholic story through the rise and fall of soft, ethereal melodies, slow rolling synth pads, powerful guitar riffs and incredible vocals from Nevve, Midoca and Aviella. Rising Artist ford. Shines On Sublime Debut Album ‘(The) Evening’ via Foreign Family

Rising producer ford. has made his mark on the electronic music scene in record time. Appearing on our radar earlier this year, ford.’s warm production style has already landed him on the site a couple of times now: first for his irresistible remix of Bearson’s single “Get Lost” featuring Ashe, and then for his chilled out take on OTR’s “Dawn”. On both remixes ford. completely re-imagined the instrumentals and built the track from the ground up, imprinting his uniquely chilled-out production style into our memory. Now he’s channeled that production prowess into an impressive debut album (The) Evening out now on Foreign Family Collective.

The 10-track LP sounds like a summer sunset. Each track is heavily layered with melodic production and the moods range from hazy & melancholic to clear & upbeat. Like a true friend, ford. brings his buddies along for the ride on this defining project. He taps Knapsack for the bouncy “Slack”, re-links with Hanz on the wistful “Lazy Sad”, and teams up with Sonn for the beautiful title track. Enjoy!

Ultra Miami To Change Locations In 2019

As Ultra Music Festival approaches its 20-year anniversary, the long-running fest has had much more to worry about than attendance. With pressure from the Miami City Commission, Ultra has just announced a change of location for 2019.

What seems like recent distaste with the larger-than-life Florida festival is nothing new. For years citizens and stakeholders alike have flip-flopped on support for the event, weighing its economical benefit against the disturbance caused by its massive sound systems. With Ultra having been recently evicted from their usual venue of Bayfront Park, tensions have been increasing daily but seem to almost fizzle out yesterday (Nov. 15), as the Miami City Commission meeting voted 4-1 in a decision that Ultra take place about 5 miles southeast on Virginia Key in 2019.

While this has seemingly solved Ultra’s predicament for the moment (which they seem pleased about), Key Biscayne Mayor-Elect Mike Davey, who is outwardly opposed to Ultra, has started what seems to be a smear campaign against the fest. Citing “environmental destruction, noise, and increase in alcohol- and drug-related violence,” Davey took to social media to share the video below.

Haven spoken out against the Virginia Key move yesterday prior to the City Commissions vote, saying, “we have one way on and one way off the island, and that’s the Rickenbacher Causeway. What this item proposes is putting at least 160,000 people out there. This is going to impact our safety.” While these fears may be justified, in light of his smear campaign they fall on deaf ears, as Ultra recently issued a statement addressing the above video (the full statement can be read below). While the trouble for Ultra Miami may be far from over, we’re happy that the fest will continue on as planned next year at Virginia Key, March 29 – 31 – more info and to purchase tickets to the festival here. Enjoy!

Ultra’s Official Statement

It is deeply regrettable that Mayor-Elect, Mike Davey and the Village of Key Biscayne have elected to publish statements that are knowingly false and misleading rather than to first seek to collaborate with either Ultra representatives or its City of Miami partners (if for no other purpose but to gather accurate facts and to gain an understanding of Ultra’s commitment and obligations respecting, traffic mitigation and environmental and historical preservation planning). By opting to instead circulate what appears to be primarily stock photos (unrelated to Ultra) featuring used needles, polluted shorelines, traffic gridlock, by falsely and intentionally reporting that potentially hundreds of thousands of attendees will be converging on the Rickenbacker Causeway and by falsely stating that City of Miami had purportedly evicted Ultra for environmental destruction, increased alcohol and drug-related violence, safety risks and by reporting other untruths is blatantly disreputable. The offending publication(s) by Mayor-Elect, Mike Davey and the Village of Key Biscayne is patently false and inaccurate, and was made with reckless disregard of the truth. “It unfairly disparages our brand and potentially criminalizes our patrons” says Ray Martinez, Ultra’s spokesperson. The publications made by the Mayor-Elect are believed to be defamatory, as are the horrendous images that were published in an effort to purportedly inflame and scare residents and stakeholders. Ultra condemns this conduct and cautions that such leadership is irresponsible and wrongful on multiple factual and legal grounds including that the disturbing images were not associated with the Ultra Music Festival brand. Event organizers of Ultra Music Festival are experienced and responsible promoters, which intends to fulfill its commitment to produce a safe and enjoyable event.

Because of the cultural and historic significance of Historic Virginia Key Beach Park and given the unique environmental considerations associated with the park, event organizers, from the inception, always intended to take extraordinarily great care in its production and remediation approaches. Event organizers always agreed that staging an event at Virginia Key meant becoming the entrusted stewards of the environmental and historic elements of Historic Virginia Key Beach Park and Ultra takes that potential responsibility very seriously. Event organizers have expended substantial resources in sourcing and consulting with leading experts, engineers, scientists and other professionals in areas of traffic mitigation, logistics, safety and security, land remediation, wildlife and marine conservation and others from environmental communities.

During this process, Ultra voluntarily undertook environmental commitments long before the City of Miami and Historic Virginia Key Beach Park Trust partners formally proposed similar initiatives. Ultra has also worked in good faith to earn the support and trust of the City Manager’s office and of local environmental stakeholders with whom event organizers share a common vision—, namely,to protect the City of Miami’s coastline, oceans, beaches, mangroves, endangered and threatened species and to ultimately reduce the overall environmental footprint. Some specific initiatives include the reduction of single-use plastics (with the goal of eventual elimination), restricted beach access to event patrons, eliminating styrofoam products and plastics straws, eliminating the use of balloons, utilizing meaningful recycling options, solid waste sorting, avoiding turtle nesting season, adopting awareness programs, among others. Ultra is pleased to have earned the trust and support of its City partners, including the support of Virginia Key Beach Park Trust stakeholders who stated that while “[t]he Ultra Music Festival carries some controversies … [it] represents a potential opportunity to advance the Trust’s master plan and mission … .” —Guy Forchion, Executive Director, Historic Virginia Key Beach Park Trust. Ultra looks forward to keeping the trust of the City of Miami and Virginia Key Beach Park Trust partners and invites an open-minded and good-faith dialogue with Mayor-Elect, Mike Davey and / or with other representatives of the Village of Key Biscayne administration to address their concerns.

Russ Liquid has been killing it for quite some time now. Having kept busy over the last year with his trio The Russ Liquid Test, today the New Orleans-based producer has unveiled his brand new Eclectric EP.

With the steady evolution of his unique, bass heavy sound since the release of his last solo project in 2014, today we’re faced with a whole new monster. Lido Pours His Heart Out On Bright, Beautiful New ‘I O U 2′ EP

Lido seems to always have something incredible up his sleeve. Having just come off his recent I O U 1 EP, today the Norwegian phenom has already completed the series with I O U 2.

This latest offering shares a side of Lido we’ve never seen before. While we had thought the multi-talented artist laid it all on the line in his 2016 album Everything, it seems that something was missing – and that something was Nothing.

And we mean this quite literally, as with Lido’s recently completed visual album viewings, we learned not only the meaning behind I O U (“Inspiration Over Utility”) and that Lido is already working on his next album; but that while I O U came in the form of two EP’s, the project was originally slated to be released as Nothing, the follow up to Everything. But while Lido has been vocal that Everything was “not about her, this [album] is because of her” (“her” being his ex-girlfriend Halsey) it seems that I O U 2 is more reflective not of Lido’s heartbreak, but a much more external view of the situations that arose and his relationships with the people around him after the extent his emotional turmoil.

Weighing in at 5-tracks, I O U 2 continues upon the lush, distinctive sound carved out in its predecessor. From the angry, fast-paced release on “Ex” to the soft, melancholic fatigue on “Vultures”, Lido continues to pour his heart out over vibrant synths, skittering, non-traditional percussion and powerful choral harmonies. Stream I O U 2 below and enjoy!

PREMIERE | Kill Paris Delivers Lush New Remix Of Alison Wonderland’s “Easy”

Alison Wonderland and Kill Paris are two artists that we highly admire here at TSIS. So, when we were offered the opportunity to premiere a Kill Paris remix of Alison Wonderland’s album cut “Easy”, we enthusiastically accepted.

Sydney-born Alison Wonderland was featured on the site just last week after her anticipated collab with Dillon Francis was heard for the first time at EDC Orlando. On the other hand, Indiana native Kill Paris made a recent appearance with his single “Two Minds”, which was created using various samples from… plants? Yup, definitely worth checking out. Now today, we are blessed with the sounds of both artists as Alison Wonderland recruits Kill Paris for an installment of the ‘Awake’ album remixes.

Revolving around Alison Wonderland’s vocals, Kill Paris nicely maintains the integrity of the original sound while giving the track a high-energy, future-bass, facelift that we can’t get enough of. Kill Paris always seems to impress with his knack for lush production and perfectly highlights Alison’s original while making it his own. Enjoy!
