Kaytranada Joins His Brother Lou Phelps & Jazz Cartier On Bouncing New Song “Come Inside”

Kaytranada never disappoints. This time around the TSIS favorite has linked up with his brother Lou Phelps and Jazz Cartier for a dance-friendly new hip-hop song “Come Inside.” Kaytra and his brother Lou have linked up multiple times in the past and are back at it with the loose single.

The three Canadians show an immediate chemistry on this new track that already has us awaiting summer. The breezy Kaytranada instrumental has the signature groove we’ve come to expect from his productions over the years. Jazz Cartier has also been on a roll lately and shines over the smooth production that’s a bit different from the darker producer we’re used to hearing him with. Enjoy!

Form Arcosanti Announces Lineup For Their Exclusive And Unique Music & Art Festival Ft. Skrillex, Chance The Rapper & More

In today’s world flooded with music festivals left and right, we’re always looking for the next unique, creative experience that will blow our minds. One special festival / retreat that’s doing it different than all the others is FORM Arcosanti, an event curated by OWSLA’s Hundred Waters, that takes place in Arizona’s eco-city of Arcosanti. FORM will be returning May 11-13 this year – see more info here

Unlike most festivals, to attend FORM Arcosanti you actually have to submit a short application in order to be considered. According to the press release, “the short application is designed to promote diversity, integrity, and creativity amongst those populating the historical architectural landmark for the weekend.” With a very limited amount of tickets, you can be sure that there will be enough space for you to dance and move about freely as you so please.

Even though we’re talking about a relatively small festival, the artists they’ve announced are huge. The headliners include Chance The Rapper, Skrillex, Charli XCX, Beach House, Daniel Caesar and Blood Orange with appearances from Mija, Hundred Waters, Knox Fortune, Tennyson, Sophie and more.

Many music festivals have an art aspect to them, but FORM Arcosanti really does everything they can to embrace it. FORM will include a Cultural Series consisting of talks, panels, workshops, experiential art, new technologies and outdoor/wellness activities in addition to their eclectic music lineup. They are highlighting numerous philanthropy partners (see above), including Chance The Rapper’s Social Works, where all proceeds with be donated this year.

Check out the full lineup of music, talks, panels and more above!

PREMIERE | Phil Good Drops Uplifting New Indie Dance Song “Better” Via Lowly Palace

Last year we had the pleasure of introducing LA-based singer-songwriter and producer Phil Good to TSIS with stellar releases such as “Growing Up,” “I Miss You,” and his track with K?D, “Lose Myself.” Now he’s showing no signs of slowing down as we’re excited to premiere his newest song today, titled “Better.” Phil Good discusses the inspiration behind this lighthearted dance track, which showcases his talents as a musician and vocalist.

“Some days I wake up and I feel like I don’t know how to be a human being. I feel like a lot of people can relate to that. Life isn’t easy sometimes and something as simple as waking up to face the day ahead can be a monumental task. This song is me telling myself to just ride it out because things can and will always get better” -Phil Good

Phil Good’s inspirational and positive message comes through on “Better,” which emits an upbeat playfulness with bright synth chords and smooth vocal harmonies. Powerful choruses come together with light claps and subtle synth work hitting just right. Phil Good intertwines these sections with energetic breakdowns consisting of additional chords and lead melodies made from his modulated vocals. Give his feel-good track a listen below, courtesy of Lowly Palace, and enjoy!

Hip-Hop Duo Earthgang Signed To J. Cole’s Label Share EP Single “Nothin’ But The Best” Ft. Ari Lennox

When rising hip-hop duo EarthGang signed to J. Cole’s Dreamville label last year, they announced they would be releasing three EP’s before their next album. They dropped the Rags EP in September, the Robots EP in October, and now are gearing up for the Royalty EP to release this Friday, February 23rd. Today they released the lead single from it, “Nothin’ But The Best,” which features Dreamville labelmate Ari Lennox.

The Atlanta rappers have really settled into their sound with these new EP’s, infusing a classic hip-hop sound with contemporary southern elements. This new single follows this style with a walking bass and keys that sound like they were pulled from a 90′s Nas track, creating the perfect backdrop for their intricate lyrics and flows. Ari Lennox lends her voice for the chorus which splits up Johnny Venus’ and Doctor Dot’s verses nicely, further demonstrating the chemistry all these Dreamville artists have together.

EarthGang are currently touring the country with J.I.D., and if they’re coming to your city that is not a show to be missed. After their third EP in the trilogy this week, EarthGang will be releasing Mirror Land, their new album, sometime in 2018. Enjoy!

K?D and Wolfgang Gartner Join Forces On Dark New Electro-House Single “Banshee”

It’s always inspiring to see two incredibly powerful artists join forces on a collab, and even more so when those artists come from completely different schools of thought – as is the case with K?D and Wolfgang Gartner. But even considering their musical differences, today the unlikely duo have put their heads together to cook up an awesome new single titled “Banshee”.

Although K?D is still relatively new to the electronic music scene while Wolfgang Gartner has been an absolute powerhouse of a producer for over a decade, to see them join forces on this latest offering is not only a testament to the timelessness of house music, but also shows their respect for each others production abilities. Starting off slow with a warbling e-piano melody and stabbing synths, some ominous choral harmonies and skittering percussion throw the track into a powerful drop filled with shrill, orchestral instrumentation, deep distorted bass and a masterful mix of both K?D and Wolfgang Gartner’s distinctive sound design all tied together by a pulsing 4/4 kick. Check out “Banshee” below and enjoy!

Jackal Continues To Impress With Heavy New Single “Only Regret” Ft. Akacia

Jackal has been cranking out quality tunes on both sides of the spectrum for years. Whether you’re looking for a relentlessly hard banger, or an emotional rollercoaster of a track, he can do it all. His most recent track, however, titled “Only Regret”, channels both sides of his production style to create a cohesive track that will both shake your walls and pull at your heartstrings.

It seems like Jackal is riding the wave of this new school trap sound, and does it well. As Akacia’s soft, whispy vocals lure you into the track, Jackal then sets off a bomb at the drop, with heavily reverberated synth stabs exploding while his fat 808’s rumble beneath. The contrast of Akacia’s vocals against such thunderous production truly creates quite the spectacle. During the second part, Jackal tricks the listener by seemingly going into the same trap drop as before, but this time flips the lead into a cinematic future bass melody.

It’s clear that Jackal has been influenced by some of the newer producers in the game, but he still manages to do it better than all of them. Enjoy!

Today we’re pleased to be introducing a rising Brooklyn-based artist Aaron Taos with the premiere of his catchy new song “Amazing.” The genre-blending artist has been making waves with his hybrid indie sound, and today we have the latest off his forthcoming Night Thoughts EP.

“Amazing is a song harkening back to the initial stages of my relationship with my girlfriend. It was a level of intimacy that I hadn’t experienced before. It’s about lust and sitting home in the wee hours of the morning thinking about that person you wish was there with you”. – Aaron Taos

Taos has a way of blending organic instrumentation with relaxed production in a unique fashion that hits just right. His dreamy vocals sit atop the smooth, dazed guitar, slow bassline and slightly gritty synths that all come together effortlessly. Taos’ songs have a knack of getting stuck in your head for hours on end and this new one is no different. As with his past releases, “Amazing” fully showcases his songwriting with this incredible new tune that can surely connect with anyone. Stay tuned for more from this talented artist and enjoy!
