Insomniac settles civil lawsuit with LA Memorial Coliseum Commission for $3.5-million

After a six-year legal battle, the href="http://dancingastronaut.com/tag/insomniac/" >Insomniac brand and its CEO, href="http://dancingastronaut.com/tag/pasquale-rotella/" >Pasquale Rotella, have finally settled their civil lawsuit with the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission, with the settlement price tag weighing in at a cool $3.5-million.

The case was opened in 2011 after the government formally accused two Coliseum managers of engaging in “corrupt” behavior. The lawsuit cited Insomniac and Go Ventures as being involved in “unlawful and/or unfair business practices” — allegedly underpaying the venue while hosting events at the Coliseum. The corruption suit would be responsible for href="http://dancingastronaut.com/tag/edc/" >Electronic Daisy Carnival’s relocation from Los Angeles to Las Vegas.

“I’m so pleased to finally be putting this matter behind me,” Rotella stated, “It’s been a long journey to get where we are, and I’m excited about what’s next for me in my hometown of Los Angeles.”

Rotella submitted a no contest plea to the misdemeanor conflict-of-interest charge brought against him. Rotella will pay $150,000 to Los Angeles County, serving three-years of probation.
