Amidst their recently commenced world tour, UK tech-house twosome, href="http://dancingastronaut.com/tag/Prok-&-Fitch">Prok & Fitch, have released a three-song EP entitled Seagulls via prolific techno label, Relief Records. The duo accredits internationally-celebrated house and techno producer, href="http://dancingastronaut.com/tag/green-velvet">Green Velvet, for his hand in getting the ball rolling: “We first started working on the Seagulls EP last year. As soon as Curtis (Green Velvet) heard a demo of ‘Parker The Virgin’ he wanted it.” The pair, who are no strangers to Beatport Top 10’s, has worked alongside house icons such as href="http://dancingastronaut.com/tag/Mark-Knight">Mark Knight and Moby, with their remixes culminating support from front-pagers like href="http://dancingastronaut.com/tag/tiesto">Tiesto, href="http://dancingastronaut.com/tag/carl-cox">Carl Cox, and href="http://dancingastronaut.com/tag/pete-tong">Pete Tong.
The EP’s title track, “Seagulls,” with its steely beat and distorted vocal samples, is crisp and unconventional. Its stripped down sound design and clandestine, warehouse texture give “Seagulls” its raw tech-house energy.
