Alex Metric delivers ‘Freeek’ from forthcoming ‘Howsla’ compilation [Exclusive Stream]

UK beatmaker  href="">Alex Metric has been somewhat of an href="">OWSLA stalwart since the label’s infancy. Straddling the intersection of electro, disco, funk and UK garage, Alex Metric has become a veteran force on the label’s roster, holding down the house-leaning balance to OWSLA’s colorful, variant production output. Now href="">Skrillex‘s collective is gearing up to drop their official homage to house music with their forthcoming  href="">Howsla compilation, due May 5, with Metric’s latest, “Freeek,” teasing the collection’s rollout.

Hitting the tempo sweet spot between disco and electro, Metric proctors a wiry, rump-shaking house piece that wears its name right on its sleeve. “Freeek” blurs the line between a boisterous hunker-down-low and toe crush like it hurts to stand still kind of cut and a funky, after-hours primed dance groove.
