Recently. href="http://www.dancingastronaut.com/tag/bassnectar">Bassnectar updated fans on his href="http://www.dancingastronaut.com/2017/02/bassnectars-state-union/">roadmap of plans in 2017. The post included exciting snippets regarding Bassnectar-branded events, annual philanthropy drives, and of course, handfuls of new music coming this year. Lorin’s post also mentioned an upcoming release on href="http://www.dancingastronaut.com/tag/skrillex">Skrillex‘s OWSLA imprint, which has now officially come to fruition. Linking up with href="http://www.dancingastronaut.com/tag/atliens">ATLiens for their debut release on the LA-based label, the partnership has offered “Interlock,” a stomping bass piece woven together by distorted patois spits, designed intentionally to level festival crowds.
A masterful melange of jungle, trap, and dub influences, Bassnectar and his hooded counterparts’ new joint effort is a heavy-handed setlist weapon that complements ATLiens’ signature trap sound with quaking drum arrangements, chimes, and a disruptive half-time break Though somehow “Interlock” manages to sound like it was meant to be an OWSLA release from the start.
