Hot off the heels of releasing the fifteenth edition of his “ href="http://www.dancingastronaut.com/2017/03/malaa-releases-15th-edition-malaa-mix-series/" >Who is Malaa?” mix series, the mysterious, balaclava-clad selector is back again with a brand new single that’s name is as aptly onomatopoeic as it gets. The href="http://www.dancingastronaut.com/tag/confession" >Confession affiliate has dropped off “Contagious,” a brooding, warehouse-primed house cut that wears its name on its sleeve. Minimal, groovy, and infectious, href="http://www.dancingastronaut.com/tag/malaa" >Malaa‘s latest falls right in line with his signature underground aesthetic, as it begins to pick up some steam in 2017. The new track does not appear to be either of the ID’s in Malaa’s most recent mix, lending credibility to the idea that the enigmatic French beatmaker’s upcoming Illegal mixtape could be stocked with unheard material.
“Contagious” is somewhat scaled back from Malaa’s last release, “ href="http://dancingastronaut.com/2017/02/malaa-bylina-original-mix/" >Bylina,” the lead offering from the aforementioned mixtape, leaning in a more tech house-inspired direction with his latest. Bare bones sampling over winding synth work and club-ready drum arrangements come together in “Contagious,” as Malaa churns out an ultra-catchy house piece worth repeated listens.class="entry-content-asset"> src="https://embed.spotify.com/?uri=spotify:album:1grSWcKqVpQxIjfWQUqni2" width="300" height="380" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true">
